A Family Day Out Like No Other

The Wellington Estate was delighted to welcome back competitors and spectators for the 14th Wellington International Horse Trials and Country Fair, held from 22nd – 25th August. A standout fixture in the British Eventing calendar, the event attracted 956 competitors, featuring classes from BE100 to Advanced, FEI 1* to 3*, and the Pony Club Open National Championships. The event continues to champion both elite and grassroots competition, bringing together some of the sport’s most exciting talent.
With the sun shining throughout the four-day event and excellent going despite the hot weather, thousands of spectators enjoyed watching top-level sport, entertainment, and family-friendly attractions.

David Sheerin FBHS, Event Director, reflected on the success of the 2025 event:
“I’m so proud of what the team achieved this year at Wellington International Horse Trials, with 956 competitors competing across nine courses.
The ground held up incredibly well in the heat, and it was wonderful to receive such positive feedback from riders.
Hosting the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse qualifier marks an exciting chapter in our commitment to supporting the future of British Eventing; something I’m truly passionate about.
