Updated Generator Information For 2026’s Event

Fuel type:

No petrol generators will be allowed due to the increased fire risk. 

Test certificates required: 

Each generator, along with the associated cabling and distribution, should have a certificate of performance and safety test prior to use and delivery to site. Traders should also include the operation of a generator(s) and associated risks in their traders risk assessment.

As a trader you are responsible for any generator you bring on site, this includes having copies of the safety documentation and a risk assessment. The event team will be doing spot checks at the event and have the right to turn off any equipment which does not have relevant safety documentation.

Noise Levels:

The level of noise created by each generator should be less than 70dBs measured at 7 meters distance from the generator in open air. The event team be doing spot checks at the event and have the right to turn off any equipment which does not comply with these noise levels.  Super silent and silent diesel models with 60-70dBs maximum are required to adhere to this requirement .  This restriction will be implemented rigorously.

Refuelling: 

Generators must come to the event site with a full tank of fuel. No refuelling onsite permitted between 9am and 6pm. Refuelling will only be allowed aside from outside of event public hours.

Generator Locations: 

Generators should be installed in open air. Not under tables, benches or within the confines of a marquee, a van or a trailer. Please ensure you have an adequate cable length to allow for ideal positioning.  We would appreciate all traders are mindful of their neighbours noise/fume pollution.

Barriers: 

All generators must be surround by barriers and placed so no one can touch the generator. It is essential that the public cannot be affected by exhaust fumes.

Fire Extinguishers/Blankets:

Each generator should have a suitable fire extinguisher (dry powder – for electrical fires) sited near, close by for its application and a fire blanket to reduce fire risk.
